It Doesn’t Really Matter… (Big Secret)

Hope you had a great weekend.

I had my butt nailed to a seat at a conference this
weekend getting out of my comfort zone.

And this morning we’re flying home.

Hard to believe we’re 3 weeks into January already
which begs a question:

How are you doing with your workouts?

Is this year turning out better than last or are you
still stuck in a rut, fighting the same old habits?

I want to share a secret with you that kind of hit
home with me from the conference this weekend:

It doesn’t really matter where you start, just as
long as you do.

And it doesn’t have to be anything fancy either.

Look, there is no “perfect” program.

You just need to do something.

And it’s simpler than you think.

Here’s an email I got this morning from Shayne
to prove this point:

“Dear Geoff

You sent an email over 31 days ago that had a
program that outlined KB swings and what to do
for 31 days.

Just to let you know it really worked for me but
not in the way you may imagine. I am 49 and
have lots of tools to train with (kettlebells, barbells,
clubells, tyres etc) but often the issue has been that
its too hard or rather my motivation was too low.

I used your program as “worse case” – My ground
zero was do your program with a 16Kg KB but with
the exception of one day I did everything with a 24kg
KB and usually added other exercises in ie 10 swings,
10 goblet squats etc – or say did sets of 25, 20, 20, 20,
15 etc. At the end of the 31 days I have a habit, have
no excuses and you to thank.

Thank you so much.”

No, thank YOU, Shayne – for proving to yourself and
others reading this that you don’t have to get it perfect,
you just have to get it going to restore your motivation
and build a new habit.

As I said, there are no PERFECT programs so if
you’re looking for one to magically appear, you’ll
find it at the end of the rainbow with that big pot o’
gold and a couple of unicorns.

If that hasn’t been working for you, then you need
to do this instead:

And if you feel like what you’re doing isn’t working,
do this instead:

At the end of the day, time is running out.

You can either get the results you want by starting
somewhere or you can keep doing the same thing
you’ve been doing and get the same results you’ve
been getting.

Don’t look back with any regrets.

Go for it today.

Start small, start easy, but whatever you do, start.

Gotta run – plane to catch.
