Something New & Different For 2016…

Sounds almost like a Monty Python skit, doesn’t it?

“And now, for something completely different…”

First, I’m still not done with that Special Report I’m writing for you.

Almost.

What’s it about?

Quick hint: Mountains.

That’s all I’ll say, other than it was quite eye-opening for me and I wanted to pass on what I learned to you.

Why’s it not done yet?

Family.

Actually took most of the holiday weekend off to spend with my family.

Like I said – “New & Different” for 2016…

Back to you –

What’s “New & Different” about 2016?

They way we’re approaching this whole “get in shape with a kettlebell” thing.

I’m no longer going to write about “fat loss.”

Why?

Even though that seems to be the majority of my reader’s #1 goal?

Before I answer that question, I want to ask you one:

How successful were you in losing fat last year?

And the year before that?

And if you did lose any, did you gain it back?

If you’re like most people –

Chances are better than good that you either a) weren’t as successful as you wanted to be or b) you weren’t successful in maintaining your “losses.”

No worries.

I’m not here to judge.

I fell short in some other areas of my life.

So we’re in the same boat.

And I want to encourage you to keep pressing forward like I am.

Learn from your mistakes – and move on.

That’s what I’m doing.

My mission is to help you NOT be like most people – to help you NOT be average – in the middle of the bell curve – rather move to the right on it.

To be above average –

To help you be EXCELLENT.

If you want it.

We are ALL meant to be excellent.

Man, woman, black, white, yellow, red, green, whatever.

Here’s what I know:

When you feel great about yourself physically –

You become confident.

And that confidence will bleed over into other areas of your life –

Job… Relationships… etc…

It doesn’t matter where you are now or where you came from.

Your past is passed.

Let’s focus on the future.

And the way we do that is by addressing the here and now.

What do you want?

Focus on that.

Take an honest inventory of where you are right now.

Don’t lie to yourself.

If you’re 10 pounds over where you want to be, then own it.

Measure it.

Write it down.

Then let’s formulate a plan.

A plan to Get Lean.

There it is.

Did you see that?

See what I just did?

It’s what you need to do.

Frame your goal around what you want.

You want to “get” something, right?

Get rid of body fat.

Get a lean, healthy, strong, resilient body.

Right?

Good.

Let’s only talk about “getting” from now on.

No more “losing.”

“Losing” is for “losers” – and that’s what they do – “lose.”

You’re a “getter” – “winner.”

Someone who accomplishes his or her goals.

Right?

Even if you haven’t in the past, you can be now.

Choose to be that person.

The key?

Focusing on what you want.

And then making decisions (a.k.a. taking action) based upon your desires – your goals.

Why?

Because your mind is like a guided missile.

(Book recommendation: Psychocybernetics by Dr Maxwell Maltz goes into great detail about how this works. GREAT book for you for a New Year.)

It locks on to whatever you focus on and tracks down its target until it reaches its goal – its destination.

That’s why what you focus on is so important.

That’s why focusing on “getting” versus “losing” is critical here.

When you “lose” something, there’s a negative connotation associated with that.

– Lose a game
– Lose money in the stock market
– Lose a loved one

NOBODY likes losing.

It’s unnatural.

You were destined to WIN.

Winners “get.”

They get the victory and the spoils that go with it.

Everyone loves a winner.

And everyone (who’s sane) likes to win.

It feels good.

And it’s supposed to.

You want to feel good?

WIN.

Win in 2016 where you’ve lost in the past.

It starts with mindset.

Get that right, and everything else will fall into place.

And getting your mindset right starts with an honest assessment of where you are, and where you want to go.

Then you see what you have at your disposal for your trip, and decide if that’s enough to get you there.

If not, you get (there’s that word again) what you need before you leave.

Make sense?

Of course it does.

You do it every day.

Get showered, dressed, and fed before you leave for work.

(More getting.)

You want to get lean this year?

Awesome.

Let’s do it.

How fast do you want to arrive at your destination?

Again, depends on your circumstances.

We’ve spoken about this in the past.

I’ll touch more on that tomorrow.

For now, let’s just agree that we’re “Getters” and getters get. We WIN.

Get it?

We’ll take care of the details throughout this week.

Stay strong. <== See that? New closing for 2016. ;-)

Geoff

PS – Just in case you’re interested in getting lean as quickly as possible (and qualify – a.k.a. are currently living in a relatively low-stress situation) –

This might be for you.

(Please ignore the “fat loss” language – I shot this video a couple of months ago. The details are still relevant.)
